National Landscape Award

Within the framework of the actions aimed at implementing the European Landscape Convention, the National Landscape Award was created in 2012, as a preparatory prize for the Landscape Award of the Council of Europe.

This initiative is intended to respond to another common challenge and reward the merit of those who, in Portugal, contribute to a more sustainable territorial development and promote awareness of the importance of landscape issues for the well-being and quality of life of the population (citizens).

The award is an honorary distinction, which should take place every two years whenever possible.
